Successful British-French-Soviet Alliance Against Germany?

Pretty much in the title but in the months running up to the invasion of Poland, is there any way to salvage the negotiations between Britain, France and the Soviet Union against Germany? The later Pact between Germany and the USSR came about because these negotiations collapsed so what if they hadn't? Would there still have been a War in Europe and if so, what would it have been like?

Your thoughts?

You'd need some way for the British and the French to actually want to involve themselves in the fighting, and then to communicate this desire to Litvinov. IOTL, the suspicion in the Kremlin was that the Allies wanted Russia to bleed for them, at which point they would come and pick up the pieces, so you'd need to dispel this suspicion.

The other issue is Poland. Germany offered Russia half of Poland, plus free reign in the Baltic states.
What can the British/French offer thats even close to this?

If they really want an alliance - a free hand in the Baltics, Finland, Bessarabia, Afghanistan, and China, plus Soviet involvement in overall Allied military planning (to prevent the British and French doing nothing and bleeding the Russians dry).

So maybe one concession that can be wrung is free play in Northern China for the Soviets? Could work although Stalin might not like being made to be the counter of Japan simply for France and Britain's own interests.
