Successful Army plot removes Hitler(1938

What if the army plot planned in 1938 by LT.Col hans Oster(read:The Oster Conspiracy of 1938) worked and hitler, goebbels, himmler and heydrich were removed and shot with Goering and Hess left as figureheads? Franco would still win but have to moderate his policies. Mussolini would stick to domestic policy and not go to war. By the way, Pacelli would not be elected pope as inOTL.Stalin would widen his purge to include intelligence and foreign communist leaders. Japan would reconsider its China policy and deal with Chiang before going North against Stalin. FDR would watch carefully the events and would still run with Truman and not Wallace. Last there might be coypcat murders in India of Gandhi and his associates, leaving Indian independece and the fate of the empire at question especially if Churchill becomes PM. How about it people?

Sorry, but I don't follow any of this. Franco would win but would have to moderate his policies. In what way? Mussolini would "not go to war." But he already had. Pacelli "would not be elected pope." Why? He was Pius XI's chosen successor. "Japan would reconsider its China policy and deal with Chiang before going north against Stalin." The fighting on the Russian border was the work of the Kwantung Army, not any considered policy in Tokyo. "Stalin would widen his purge to include Intelligence and foreign communist leaders. Stalin did purge Intelligence and foreign communist leaders. Roosevelt "would still run with Truman, not Wallace." How does a plot in 1938 influence the choice of a 1944 running mate? Especially since I suspect that without a European war Roosevelt would have stuck to two terms. "Lastly there might be copycat murders in India of Gandhi and his associates, leaving Indian independence and the fate of the empire at question especially if Churchill becomes prime minister." Why? It was quietly admitted by British officials that Gandhi was rather useful. Forget myth, a strong government can ignore "moral force" till the cows come home. The British left India simply because they no longer had the resources to hold it. And without war, Churchill didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming PM.
