StuG and sturmgewerh

This is a WI tipe of question of hipotetical longterm consequences with two ifs;

the StuG is deweloped into a model with a rotating turret and is more eficient in tank duels (yes i know then it wouldnt be a stug but lets say they keep most of the desing and yust ad the rotating turret and change the name), and is mass produced before 1942

and second a fully funcktional and reliable desing for a assult rifle is finished and mass produced also before the end of 1942, lets say the germans see the shortcomings of highpowered carbines somewhat earlier than they realy did in OTL and put more energy into finishing the sturmgewerh
(i know this all makes little historical sence but hell this is AH after all)

When you develop the the StuG into a tank, you'll end up with a Panzer III - as that is what the StuG was developed from ...

Getting rid of the traversing turret made room for the bigger 75mm PAK, in a turret you'd still be limited to the long 5cm which

a) didn't have the necessary performance

b) needed tungsten-cored ammo to be of some use

you get a tank without the benefits StuGs have.

Would an earlier apperance of the Stg 44 make the Allies go to work on such a weapon? I doubt it would appear in the war but might we see an earlier M-14, FN Rifle, or the infamous AK-47
