The US has long had the strongest war potential of any country on Earth. Even during the depths of the Great Depression, the United States held a full 41% of the planet's war potential, compared to 14% for Germany, the next competitor. Considering how much Germany managed to hold down from 1939-41, an expansionist US would have been able to hold down a lot more, even if briefly. Assuming a POD during WW1 or later where Germany doesn't turn Nazi and the US aligns against France and Britain, the US could seize a lot of territory from these European empires. If the US turns autocratic-expansionist as a result of an !alt-Great Depression and declares war on UK/France, which areas in the Old World would it be important for this expansionist US to seize?
