Storytime and Victoria 2 Mod - Freya's Land

This is one of several mods that I have been working on recently, and the one that I believe I can complete the fastest and easiest. I'm going to say right now, the POD is rather "artistic".

During Leif Ericson's voyage to Christianize Greenland, Ericson's fleet of ships became entrapped in a massive storm. In the chaos, Ericson himself was knocked unconscious. During his brief nap, Ericson envisioned himself in a vast beautiful meadow. He sat up a looked off into the distance, seeing nothing but a few trees among fields scattered in every direction.

"Leif, son of Erik the Red, grandson of Thorvald, great-grandson of Asvald, rise." The voice was booming and powerful, yet with a tone so beautiful and elegant the all-father himself would feel at awe, came from behind him. He rose to his feet and turned to the voice.

"You are not yet for this place, and yet you are closer than you have ever been. For centuries your people have lived with our protection, yet now you yourself let weak men teach you what you've taught your children for generations without any help. We've watched Saxon and Frank, Goth and Dane turn their axe to our alter and drink from the blood from the cup of the White Christ. And now they send the blood of Thor himself to quench the voice of the Gods forever."

Leif's face was quivering. He was no small man, yet appeared a child staring an army of barbarians. He bowed his knee. He could not speak if he had wanted to, though he knew it would not matter. "You shall go on to Greenland, but you shall not stop. You shall be the first upon my sacred ground with your own feet."

And with that promise, Ericson awoke. The sea was calm, yet the look in his eyes was one fierce.

OOC: To be clear, this is not going to continue long. I'm trying to keep back-story interesting and short.

Ingvar and his men marched in song through the cool dark desert. They had known not what they would find in their voyage to Sarkland, and knew less leaving it. They came in promise of gold and glory, and though many Mohammedans lay dead at their feet, the reward was not what had been promised. However Ingvar had turned them around, headed back north.

"We are headed home." He told them "But we will not reach it when you think. We have a new voyage, one that would make our ancestors proud!" He did not know if it was right to keep his vision from his men, but he feared rebellion. He saw both crosses and hammers adorned on his men's armor. Would they follow him for the glory he promised, or would they ignore his heathery?

...........................

After years of travel and preparation, Ingvar had a fleet set for Greenland. Not since Leif Ericson has been sent to Christianize the region had any contact been made. Ingvar stood on the bow of the ship, staring forward off into the distance. For a split second he swore he saw the shimmer of bright blond hair in the sunlight above the figurehead.
