Sten gun question

Hello, I am interested in numbers of Sten guns air dropped into occupied Europe during WW2. Does anyone know approximate numbers of the guns delivered to various resistance movements, and perhaps the more precise places where these guns would be delivered?

I have tried to find that information online, but was unable to find any precise numbers, and it does seem strange that no records were kept on that.

Also, I know that the Germans did produce their own versions, both the direct copy and the late war MP3008, but did they ever use the British made guns in any capacity, and if they did, which units had it.

Thanks.

Some numbers from The Sten Gun by Leroy Thompson:
In August 1942 the first Sten guns were dropped to the Danish resistance. By May 1945 3,000 had been air-dropped to the Danes and a further 1,000 delivered by sea to Sweden.

Unfortunately these are the only two countries I could find statistics for in a quick search. It looks like there probably are records somewhere but just not readily available on the internet. The figure I keep seeing quoted is "tens of thousands" and based on Thompson's figures above that seems to be reasonable. There is a surprisingly large amount of information on Resistance-produced copies though.

I cannot help on numbers but I do know that Otto Skorzeny tried to impress his superiors into making them by unloading a full clip from a 'captured silenced Sten' into the ground behind them.

I don't think they were impressed as he hoped they would be.

I also read somewhere that it was his weapon of choice and he carried it on the Mussolini Raid?
