star trek films with out Leonard Nimoy

Gone Fishin'
Nimoy was hesitant about going back to trek. what if they made Star trek the motion picture without Leonard Nimoy?

Xon. Xon everywhere. The major downside is that, though there are a million ways a film series could go (one of them being only one film), this would mean no "Death of Spock" trilogy of II, III, and IV, which is what kept those films going.

wrath of kaugh without spock?

One of the ideas going into Star Trek II was that they would go back and do something from the original series. Whoever it was doing this (Harv Bennett? I don't remember) watched "Space Seed" heard Spock's last line about going back and seeing how that world developed, went "aha!" and then they did that. So Star Trek II could be Khan, or something else, or it could have nothing to do with the original series. Even if it is Khan, it could be radically different from the film we had. Hollywood productions are fickle. It's whatever comes to the writer's mind and whatever the producer, director, and studio feel like doing on a whim.

I've often wondered if TMP was worse if that would kill plans for TNG and therefore we see something like Star Trek: Andromeda coming out later on.

Initial planning for TNG didn't start until 1986, seven years after TMP was released. If TMP, it would probably strangle the franchise in its cradle, since Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock were released and Voyage Home well into production before TNG was a gleam in anyone's eyes.
