I would've loved that.

IIRC, Diane Duane started her career in the late 1970s and early 80s as a personal assistant to famous Star Trek (and other science fiction writer) David Gerrold (The Trouble With Tribbles).

It is possible and even likely that if Star Trek had made it back to the small screen in the late 70s that Duane would've emerged as one of their primary writers.

Star Trek: Dark Mirror. I really think it would showcase that the Mirror Universe was a thing, especially for TNG, plus it would be interesting to see Picard deal with the knowledge that there's an evil version of himself.

I wasn't impressed with "Dark Mirror".

Though probably better than the Mirror Universe episodes on Deep Space Nine

That's why I went with it. It's a lot better than the DS9 Mirror Universe episodes, and hopefully the production team could make it better (it had a lot of potential to be very good)

I agree that "Dark Mirror" was not that impressive a book.
However I suspect that it would have made a better episode or movie because it would have been great to see Patrick Stewart as Evil Picard.

And I did enjoy the idea that the crew was terrify of Troi.
