Spices and Gold – Spanish war of succession timeline
A land gained and a Bride rejected
On 1660’s the Spanish would not be able to handle the revolt started by Maniago, Almazan and Malong in the North of Nueva Castilla or Luzon and it was able to rebound even if the Spanish would be able to employ the soldiers from Ternate in to quell the revolt, however that was not the real reason why they are giving the land to Portugal in its independence treaty in 1668.
They will give the Northern half of Luzon or Saludong to Portugal aside from the fact that they failed to quell the revolts is because they are the rightful colonizers of the places they ceded as they have known the places being part of Majapahit in Negarakretagama making it their rightful conquest and discovery in the first place and they were the first ones to chart it and the Spanish would regain their rights to reconquer Ternate and the Spice Islands from the Dutch and the Spanish would also vow to reconquer the lands that they lost in Mindanao.
Meanwhile in 1660, Catherine of Braganza would end up rejected as the bride of Charles II who would choose the darling Anne Marie the Grand Madamoiselle instead and had Catherine of Braganza would marry Francis of Vendome instead which would have given the an alliance between the French and the English and the Portuguese and guaranteed their independence, the Grand Madamoiselle would give birth to two sons namely, James(May 10, 1661) and Robert(June 4, 1668).
