I feel like some element of German nationalism will survive, however it will be less at the extent of minorities in Red German, but rather seeking a cultural "Germanic Socialist Union" with Flanders, Netherlands, Austria.

Here is a little fun teaser showing off the Dominion of Newfoundland and the issues it faces at the start. Hopefully another major teaser will be coming out soon.

Nice! This mod looks awesomely detailed!

Is there an ETA on the mod's release date, and will it be on Steam?

We are aiming for mid-late 2019 for an "alpha" release, which will contain (at the very least) completed major countries (Germany, USSR, UK, France, Italy, USA and Japan). It will be on the Steam Workshop.

There hasn't been much teasers of Germany in some time, so here is a little peek at one of the issues Germany will have to address before it can be ready to face the west:

The Roter Frontkämpferbund (RFB), Rotfrontkämpferbund, or "Alliance of Red Front-Fighters" in English, is the political paramilitary wing of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). However, in recent years it has fallen increasingly under the influence of a group of "Leninist" radicals known as the "Bolshevik Bund", which revolves around RFB leader and prominent politician Ernst Thälmann. Fears over his political use of the RFB have even led to calls for his expulsion from the KPD, though this has not happened so far. With over 300,000 total members and around 100,000 active members, there is certainly some validity to these fears.

The player will be able to choose whether to reform, integrate or disband the RFB. However, this is also dependent on the ruling regime. If the orthodox wing of the KPD remains in power, they may only choose to disband or reform, while if the Bolshevik Bund takes power they may only choose integrate or reform. How the Bolshevik Bund takes power will be revealed later. Regardless, upon making your choice a unique tree will appear.

Eventually all the trees will be shown off when the Germany progress report is released. For now, here is the unique reform tree:

Love that red colour! Does it change to match ideology?

Thank you! Unfortunately such a thing isn't possible to do in HOI4 yet. If Paradox adds the ability to have ideology or country based GUI themes we will for sure implement that. For the moment having a red themed GUI for all countries is all that can be done.

How is life under red Germany?
It had more industrial development than Russia did so...
Surely the French bourgeois are cowering in terror, out of fear their Proleteriat might break the chains with the help of their German comrades!

Apologies for the late reply. The living conditions in Germany are considerably better than the Soviet Union due to the preexisting levels of industry and development. Additionally, while Germany is still spending considerable resources of reconstruction and redevelopment as part of recovery efforts from the German Civil War, life is generally better for most people than it was in the Weimar Republic at the same time period.

Yes, though communists in Italy and France (the most revolutionary countries outside the Comintern) have been suppressed by the implementation of anti-communist military regimes.

There is no complete list yet, however the majority of prominent German officers and generals joined with the anti-communist regimes in the Rhineland and Baden-Württemberg. I can confirm Rommel will be present in Red Germany.

Well, he isn't the only officer to defect during the German Civil War. Anyway, at this point he was relatively apolitical (which did change later admittedly), and he apparently even sympathized with the revolutionary movement in OTL, avoiding combat with the militants when ordered to suppress them in 1918 and 1919. Regardless, the majority of the upper officer corps is composed of communists, many of whom served in the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War (in OTL obviously).

I know you guys have shown off the focus trees, but what about the tech trees? Are the Livonian panzers going to be WW2 German panzers? And what about Red Germany? What will their tanks and planes be like?

Livonia and Baden-Württemberg will share identical tank designs due to their relations, and they will be more similar to OTL German Panzers. On the other hand, Red German tanks are more streamlined than Nazi Germany, with designs more akin to that of the Soviet Union. Prototype Panther tanks have been used for some of the completed GFX. Planes are a similar case. Apologies for the relatively late response.
