So I was reading up on Spartacus, I learned about how he had two chances to escape.
The first was when he was approaching the border of Northern Italy, he could have left and made it to either Gaul or Hispania, where his army of escaped slaves could have joined the rebellion of Quintus Sertorius. However, he decided to turn back and plunder mroe Roman cities.
Also, after turning back, he made a deal with Cilician pirates to take his army to Sicily, but the cheated him and refused to take him.
So what if Spartacus had escaped? If he had made it to Quintus Sertorius, could the rebelion have been successful? Or could he and his slaves have survived in Sicily?
