Spanish Castle Magic - Hendrix Lives!

Early on September 18, 1970, Jimi Hendrix died in London's Samarkand Hotel, 22 Lansdowne Crescent, Notting Hill, and the world was left without a musical genius. He had spent the later part of the evening before at a party and was picked up by girlfriend Monika Dannemann and driven to her apartment to sleep the night's festivities off. According to the estimated time of death, he died shortly afterwards from asphyxiation from complications involved with Vesperax (which he had gotten from Dannemann) sleeping pills and the alcohol in his system...

But what if he had not taken those pills? What if Dannemann had not picked him up and he had simply crashed wherever the party had been? What would the last several decades have been like with Hendrix leading the experimentation in guitar-driven rock? Would he have altered the direction fo rock altogether into the 80's and 90's? What might the possibilities have been?

Unfortunately Jimmy was seriously Bipolar and a chronic drug user. If he survives Samarkand then that may just delay the inevitable. He'll need a life-changing experience, get off the heavy drugs, and learn to deal with the BPD...either that or take "Survival Under Severe Influence 101" from Kieth Richards.

So let's say that he somehow is convinced by friends and bandmates that he's headed for disaster and after his near-death experience that night at the Samarkand, he somehow decides to get clean...maybe some kind of self-entered rehab? Is that at all possible? If so, how?
