Spanish American War: German Intervention

At the time of the Spanish American War, Germany had been planing for an eventual war with the United States. These plans resulted in Operational Plan Three. What if OP3 was initiated during the Spanish American War? How might this have effected the war and international relations?

Eh. Theres really no reason for Germany to do that. Germany was very sympathetic with Spain in this war, but still. Interestingly, in France there apparently was a real frenzy about this, so if any European country comes to Spains aid it would probably be France. And if that happens, Germany could end up in the American camp...

Germany tried to get all the European nations to rally around Spain but Britain put that to an end so I think if France or Germany try to intervene they will probably be told to keep their fleets in port by the British.

If Germany "intervenes", it's more likely to be in the form of telling the Spanish "We'll happily buy the Philippines off of you before the Americans simply take them" and then having whatever Asiatic Squadron the KM had at the time pay Dewey a visit in Manila and ask him to leave German territorial waters.
