Spain keeps Sardinia and Sicily

What if Bourbon Spain had done better in the War of the Spanish Succession and managed to keep Sardinia and Sicily, in the peace? How does this affect Europe?

Pretty unlikely who Bourbon Spain will be able to keep them just after the war...
You need a continuing Habsburg Spin for that (or an unquestionable not-French succession)

In January 1718 the Conte Filippo d'Ussolo was sent to Vienna to negotiate an alliance with the emperor, but he exceeded his mandate by broaching the cession of Sicily, and was replaced at the end of April by Gian Giacomo Fontana. Now Victor Amadeus offered to cede Sicily in exchange for Sardinia and Vigevanasco, and Fontana, empowered to make an alternative suggestion, offered to exchange all Savoyard possessions on the mainland for Sardinia and Naples.

Trades are available here, so if Spain doesn't want Parma and instead wants Sardinia they could get that in the peace treaty for the Austrain war of succession instead.

That wouldn't be the same as your pod but it would be a pretty short time it was out of Spanish hands.

I was inspired on this thread https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/ahc-wi-spain-keeps-sardinia.437188/ that mentioned that, by the time, Sardinia had assimilated some Spanish traditions and customs and suggested that if it had remained Spanish, it could have become Spanish-speaking and an integral part of Spain. Do you agree with this? Could such have happened with Sicily, too?
Sardinia rather than fully assimilated would rather be bilingual and would be something like larger version of Balearic Islands.
