A sizeable proportion (10% or so) of Vietnam's population is Catholic because of them having been a French colony. If they did, would they be as successful in spreading Catholicism in the country as they were in the Philippines?
They were already overextended, with issues all the hasburgs war and now the borbouns one i doubt it.Could Spain colonize Vietnam or Korea in the 1700s or 1800s?
I doubt it, much like france later on, that would still being see as the religion of the invaders as both have organized paganism and buddism vs the tribes of the islands of phillipinnesIf they did, would they be as successful in spreading Catholicism in the country as they were in the Philippines?

I'm not saying that Vietnam or Korea would be majority Catholic, but with a lengthier period of Spanish colonization, it'd be higher than 10%.Sure, but that is much less than the roughly 80% of the Filipino population who are Catholic.
