Soviet Rambo

They did it, what was the name again... The Red Scorpion or something?

And there's that awful, awful, awful Russian actioner movie, Piranha. It's Rambo-esque, up to the part where he kills enemies with a bow.

Ivan Ivanovich Rambov. Da. Mis-understood brooding ex-Spetznaz. Now works in gulag. Until Col. Crennov needs him again.

That's a lot of sequel potentials there, places like Libya, China, Iran, Cuba, Afghanistan and it can end with that post-Glasnost movie where he finally escapes the routine and go back to his Kamchatkan home.

Until the (now) SVRF Col. Crennov needs him again!

Even more sequel hooks!:D

Indeed. I remember at the time when "Solo Voyage" came out Sylvester Stallone was asked for his opinion on what the Russians were doing. He took it in good part, suggesting that Rambo and the Solo Voyage guy should meet up in a joint sequel to fight it out for all the box office takings in the world. He did comment they'd probably need to shoot two endings though...

When it goes on DVD...

In Russia, the "Russian Wins" ending is official, American Wins is bonus material.

In the US, the "American Wins" ending is official, Russian Wins is bonus material.

Sounds like a win-win really. Damn now I need to go see The Expendables...

Or maybe they both team up to take on a neo-Nazi conspiracy?
