Soviet Nuclear Targets - South Africa

If the Cold War ever escalated into a full scale nuclear World War III (like during the Cuban Missile Crisis) what would have been South Africa's fate?

During the Cuban Missile Crisis the USSR won’t waste a missile on SA.

By the late ‘70s - early ‘90s, though, when the USSR has nukes to spare and SA developing their own weapons, you might see the Russians drop a few on Pretoria and other RSA targets.

Missile range would be a big issue, only ICBMs and forward deployed weapons could hit SA. I don't think the Soviets had many forward deployed weapons in Africa and even by the 80s once the targets in the US had been serviced there would be few missiles left for SA.
