South East Asian World

No. Not enough people, and not enough room to expand what with India and China on either side, and the Pacific to the east.

Didn't the Majapahit become very prosperous.

I tend to sometimes think that South East Asia is the 'Eastern Europe' of the Far East.

A Southeast Asian thalassocracy is a good idea, actually. But if you've got a titan to your north and giants, that if unified, could become a formidable force then you're screwed either way.

Depends on what you mean 'dominant'.

In terms of population, no, it would be one of the most populous, but barring some horrible event(s) the Indian subcontinent and East Asia would beat it out.

In terms of economics it's possible, it does afterall sit at the crossroads of very important trade-routes and has a great deal of economic potential itself.

In terms of politics it's possible, especially if it makes sustained contacts and trade with other parts of the world and becomes a colonial power itself.

These two are what I am looking for

Then yes, it is possible.

It would definately be a Pacific-centered power, though their could be some colonies along the East African coast, but I suspect most of the focus would be on Oceania and the Pacific halfs of the America's.
