Song lyrics that never were...

So what if your favourate songs had alternate lyrics to them?

I can think of two...

One for AC/DC which goes:

It's a long way to the shop,
if you want a sausage roll...

And one by the Angels:

Am I ever gonna see your face again?
No way hozzay fuck off!

Hit the music...

Bring your daughter
Bring your daughter

To the slaughter

Let her work
Let her work

As a slaughter apprentice

Riding on the back of an ASB,
The merry merry leader of the YSP,
Thande is to blame,
Thande is to blame,
Come blame Thande with me.

Sing to the tune of "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree".

Massachusetts declared war
On big, old Mister George-y
Forget their guns and then their hats
And were conquered the next day.

- From "A History of British Folk Songs",c. 1890

Not really one of my favorite songs ;), but I like it nonetheless.

The pres'dent dont like it
Rockin the White House

Rock the White House
The pres'dent dont like it
Rockin the White House
Rock the White House

By order of Congress
We ban that boogie sound
Degenerate the patriots

With that crazy Nazi sound

Rock the White House, by the Clash, written to protest the US's ban on Rock and Roll, which was seen by politicians as Nazi propaganda.

Donald Rumsfeld getting the sack? I blame Thande.
I depend on Thande,

AH dot com! AH dot com! Come blame Thande with me.
AH dot com! AH dot com! Come blame Thande with me.
AH dot com! AH dot com! Come blame Thande with me.
AH dot com! AH dot com! Come blame Thande with me.

Thande I didn't know you could get blamed like that,
Yorkshire Socialist Party blame Thande like that.
Thande I didn't know you could get blamed like that,
Yorkshire Socialist Party blame Thande like that.

-To the tune of "I depend on me".

The reason I'm doing Thande-themed songs is because Thande once said he did actually write up a Thande Musical, but the songs were just other songs he'd found that were editted to be about him.

In 1870, we took a little time,
to march with Gen'ral Moltke 'cross the mighty River Rhine.
We took a little sauerkraut and went over the plan,
then we beat the bloody French at the battle of Sedan.

We fired our guns and the Frenchies kept a'comin'
They didn't have as many as there was in our army
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
west across the Ardennes to the shores of Normandy

Yeah they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit wouldn't dare
Their Emper'r ol' Nappy though, he had to stay with Prussia
'cause we caught him and his men, and the battle ended there

-To the tune of "The War of 1812"
