Someone said on one of my posts that the Bacaudae, an anti-Roman group

That according to some was a group of bandits and others say was a group of freedom fighters and advocates of self-sufficiency. This person says they allied with the HUNS! Is this really true, and if so why?

My understan ding is that they were actually brigands, but I suppose if you were on an anti-imperialism kick you might if you squinted the right way, call them "freedom fighters'.
I think they had been suppressed before the Huns invaded Gaul.
 
Bagaudae

Peasant rebels in the third century. A major Bagaudae (the usual spelling, although Bacaudae is seen too) rebellion was crushed in 285-86, but subsequent rebels were also given that name through the early fifth century. Wikipedia has an entry on them.
