Someone Else Unifies Japan Other than Nobunaga, Hideyoshi or Tokugawa

I see.

Is it true that historically, Uesugi was depicted as effeminate?

And there was really no daimyo that controlled the Tohoku region of Japan before the unification, right?
Define effeminate? The man literally died from partying too hard and spent most of his life at war, so not really sure if thats what you would call such.

The rise of Uesugi is rather easy to butterfly away though, relying on a slightly convoluted series of events to get Kenshin to where he was, if you want to go the Takeda route. The Takeda clan had a habit of angering all their neighbors at the same time with their belligerent expansionism though. Which really might not be as big a problem as it seems, since this is the Sengoku era.

Hmm . . I can swear there are a few stories/dramatizations that like to say that Kenshin was secretly a woman.

Any thoughts on the Odawara Hojo? They managed to hold out longer than any of Hideyoshi or Oda's other foes, but this might be a consequence of being out in the east rather than their martial ability.

They never had plans of unifying Japan. They actually want to conquer the Kanto region and establish a nation independent from the imperial court and the shogunate.

As for the other candidates for unifying Japan, I say it's either Takeda, Uesugi, Date and Mori.
