Soliman's folly – A Philippines TL
Miguel Lopez de Legaspi
Verse 1
On 1570-71, Tarik Sulayman of Macabebe refused to submit in to the spanish but he is never bothered to fight with the Spanish and let the Tondo and other Bruneian vassals to fall to the Spanish and don't ally with Rajah Sulayman due to his friends and allies in the north like King Kasikis of Kaboloan due to them being descendants of Bolkiah who sacked Tondo and instead they should ally amongst themselves and don't help Rajah Sulayman and let him fall to the Spanish, the north have developed an apathy to the south but the desire of regaining the lands lost to the Bruneian Heirs like Rajah Sulayman would remain lands taken by Nakhoda Ragam, Princess Kandarapa's betrothal to one of the Saludongese nobles fell apart in 1570 and the break of the betrothal would also be another reason of the apathy of Tarik Sulayman to Rajah Sulayman despite the treatment of the Spanish to the people in Manila, the betrothal did not happen because the other nobles of Saludong like Kasikis said that the Bruneians would never be trusted.
When Lopez de Legazpi died in 1572, his successor, Governor-General Guido de Lavezaris, did not honour their agreements with Sulayman and Lakan Dula. He sequestered the properties of both kings and tolerated Spanish atrocities, however the friars and Juan de Salcedo would easily be able negotiate peace with them, Salcedo marries Dayang Kandarapa.
On the Chinese attacks of Limahong on 1574, Kasikis and his fellows were able to negotiate with Limahong to go back to Manila after Limahong had been defeated by Don Gallo and Tarik, Balagtas and Kasikis would defeat Limahong and later would negotiate with Limahong to continue to hammer the South and help them destroy the settlements by Salcedo in Ilocos, afterwards, Limahong and the troops the Kingdoms of Sapa and Kaboloan and the other warriors of the Majapahitan Saludong which included their leaders such as Kasikis and Tarik would destroy the Spanish settlements in Ilocos which are ruled by Juan de Salcedo in 1575, afterwards Limahong would continue to hammer the South which made the nobility in Meycauayan and Manila ally with the Spanish but Tarik Soliman and the other nobles of Saludong would remain strong and unconquerable to the Spanish due to them being able to organize and remain united.
Limahong would sack Manila on 1576 causing the Spanish to shift the capital back to Cebu, although the Manila was later rebuilt later on as a port, it would not regain its prominence or what should it be.[1]
1. The capital of the Colony is shifted back to Cebu or Sugbu due to Manila being Sacked.
