Social consequences of a conventional WW3

What would be the lasting repercussion of the cold war turning hot, in the 1963-1973 period?

Nato armies might advance to the outskirts of Berlin and turn that city into a field of shattered ruines and twisted metal, soviet-union might invade turkey and pakistan etc.
Hovewer, there are no real winners, especially in europe.

Main european front does not move more than a few hundreds of kilometers either east or west.

Neither sides are completely bled white, the WW3 USA and Soviet-Union doesn´t suffer the same percentage of casualties as germany or the soviet-union did in WW2 (), but still remains extremely high.
War is extremely brutal and last approximatively 8-9 years, it leaves +30 millions war veterans, in both the USA and the CCCP.

In the USA for example, those between 18 & 19 when the war started, suffer 2/3 casualties (wounded and maimed not included)

These losses makes demographics a serious issue in the post-war period, in all countries that participated in the conflict.

So what are the consequences for the world? For specific countries, neutral as well as belligerents? What impact on politics, ideologies, states, armies, mentalties, cultures?

In Canada, I'm sure there are starch anti-authoritarian parliments until 1980, when we're trying to defend the North Pole from a Russia that really wants the oil.

WW4 starts on North American soil, and might end with Europe being Neutral, because they want the oil up there cheaply, and Russia probably would sell it more cheaply than Canada. But, since it's only been a few decades since they attacked Europe, they'll still have defenses pointed that way.

With a 3rd WW, I'd see Canada being pushed closer to either the US, or British sphere. In the 70's Canada was still pro-empire, but the US was making better head way through Ontario, economically. Either way having one of the worlds biggest resource piggy banks on your side helps.

After a WW3 the UN would probably have more geo-political jurisdiction. Maybe even regular UN/NATO Army/Fleet.
