So the South won the Civil War, now what?

A lot of people wonder "What if the South won the Civil War?" What I'm asking is, what would happen after the South won the Civil War? You don't here to often about what happens next, I don't think. What do you think would happen?

Well, depending on how soon it happens, a lot less people would probably die of starvation. Nigeria's oil revenues are kinda gone, but it's hard to say how much better Biafra would do with them then Nigeria did - they'd stay in the Delta, yes, but I have my doubts about the stability and honesty of the Biafran government...

Also this is in the wrong forum.

Why, the ramifications of a Civil War gone otherwise, of course! Personally, I do not think Nigeria will recover from this, though. OTOH, its no catastrophe I mean, no access to oil might also mean no "oil curse", but OTOH... well look, at Niger. I guess remnaint Nigeria will end up something like that - no great catastrophes, but always a low level insurrection here or there.

/E: Bah, Zyz and Phil, spoilsports :p

Well I wonder if the Ibo would end up doing a better job managing their oil wealth than the Hausa and Fulani dominated north. While yet another kleptocracy is all too likely, the Ibo are renown for their mercantile nature. Given 20 years of smart policies, and a trillion dollars in oil revenue, you might actually see a 1st world African nation.

Marius is going to flay you alive...

South Africa is not 1st world. Its... uh, whats the term in English? Ah, wiki says "Newly Industrialised State" - well, thats a gay term :p At least thats what I would say.

Still, he might rightfully flay His Majesty of the Larger Apes alive for basing his arguments on stereotypes about single tribes :p

To stop messing with the OP

First whe need to know which CSA won the War, along with some idea how.

The CSA that win the Battle of Bull Run and advances to take DC, and wins the war in early 1861, is a lot different from a Gettysburg won CS, which is different from a Copperhead War of Exhaustion, CS.

First he should look thru past threads that actually talked about this WI. There are probably about 50 if he was to use the Search Engine.
