Smallest possible France?

What combination of PODs would result in the smallest France? I was thinking that during all the invasions during the events of the French Revolution, they try to formally annex the territory that they've captured.

Perhaps Muslims win battle of Tours and France include only Northern France and it not be able conquer Southern France.

Smallest possible France, without France not existing, is probably

The blue lands (excluding the County of Tolouse), and perhaps without Flanders.

Probably not as a long lasting change. By the Revolution France has tasted Nationalism, its going to be hard to stamp it out. Poland was partitioned, but that was because there were three Empires willing to do it, with enough power to do so, and located correctly to do so. By the Revolution that doesn't really apply to France. England doesn't need to take French Territory to cripple their influence and won't want much of a continental presence anyways, Spain doesn't have the Power, and Austria/Russia/Prussia are too far away.

I think the best time to do it would be earlier. A situation where England is able to seize much of France but not completely subjugate them, allowing the Habsburgs to inherit all of the Duchy of Burgundy, and Aragon and Castille to seize parts of France as well. If Navarre's position in Normandy is preserved that gets you closer, along with the Duchy of Dauphine being returned to the HRE as part of Royal Burgundy and Provence retaining Maine-Anjou, that reduces France to Ile-de-France, Champagne, and maybe Toulouse.

Keep Spain and Austria from uniting under the Habsburgs and you could get a 3/4-way Rivalry using France as its Battleground.

Tahiti?

Stealing blatantly from Turtledove, after France falls, Tahiti might well claim the mantle of France, as the government in exile flees there. And some nations might recognise it, so as to avoid having to give French money, etc, to the conquerors...
