Small UK Military Projects That Shouldn't Have Been Cancelled

Yeah, it's all very well banging on about the TSR2 and the CVFs. But what about the stuff that the everyday soldier/sailor/airman relies on? Which projects that were killed at birth by the MoD/Treasury should have gone ahead?

I have a few:
Vixen liaison car to replace Ferret
Cancelling the idea to use the Cockerill 90mm gun in place of the 76mm on the Scorpion fleet
FV432 with Rarden turret
Beeswing/Swingfire for the infantry
Sea Wolf lightweight
the Centurion turret as the new light RN ordanance (would have been used by the Castle and Island class amongst others)
various artillery projects including mobile light MLRS on souped up Supacat
Laird Centaur
hows that for starters?

FV432/30 was top heavy, had a cramped interior and might have meant no Warrior, so cancellation after 13 examples was a good decision, IMVHO. LWT Sea Wolf was a sad loss.
The armament of the Castle Class OPV would have been the ROF 105mm, as used on the Centurion, but not the turret. It was the cheapest option until the MoD 'improved' it so that it became the most expensive option and the class got the 40mm Bofors instead. It would not have been used on the Island class at those ships predated the idea.
DK Brown discusses the whole project in Rebuilding the Royal Navy.
