Small OTL History Questions thread (After 1900)

Thread for small OTL history questions concerning the 20th century.

This is the brother/sister of the pre-1900 questions thread, started in June 2012 by Zuvarq.

I'll kick off by asking: Can you give me some links to good sites about the state of the South American militaries in the first half of the 20th century ?

Excellent idea Petike. Sorry I can't help you with your question.

I do have a rather obscure question. Is there a good book giving an overview of mutinies and "strikes" in the British armed forces in the 20th century? I know of a few - Etaples, Invegordon, Salerno and the Demobilisation "strike" in India just after WWII I ust wonder if there is a book covering the general subject

Can someone please help me out with some OTL terminology ?

What are the Arabic terms for various types of military vehicles (especially armoured ones) ? Please use a romanized transcript if available.

I'd like to ask a question about the Anglo-Irish:

Aside from the cultural distinctions that were ascribed to them, were they in any way ethnically distinct as a group ?

Or were they just usual Irish people that were distinct from most other Irish by their religious affiliation (Church of Ireland/England, other Protestantism) and by their social status (often privileged, culturally Britain-centric, etc.) ?

I know a Tank is (Al-)Dabbaba in Arabic and Artillery is Madfa’iyya.

However, I suspect that question has gone stale over the course of the last two years.

No, Halagaz, it's still OK if you answer it.

I'd be interested if someone answered my question on the Anglo-Irish as well. Online sources can only get me so far.
