Slavicised Western Roman Empire

Is it plausible (even remotely) that the Western Roman Empire (Spain, France, Britain, etc.) be made wholly (and even partially) Slavic?

There was a thread about a Slavic France that confirmed that the Slavs wouldn't go that far west and that even if they did they would have been assimilated.

The furthest point west a single group of Slavs went to was roughly the outskirts of OTL Paris. On the other hand there was quite a few slavic slaves in Cordoba.

I am not sure that western europe turning slavic is possible though I would not call it ASB.

I wouldn't call it ASB either, but it is very unlikely. I would say that more of Germany could become Slavic, maybe even parts of the Low Countries, but France is too densely populated, the Alps get in the way for Western Austria and Italy, and France obviously block the way into Spain. And Britain being Slavic IS ASB.

The Alps. In OTL, Slavs settled a lot of Eastern Austria, but their advance West was blocked by the terrain. And Italy, yeah, the Alps. They aren't going to take boats across from Dalmatia.

The Alps didn't stop the Goths or Lombards.

Howabout the ERE does better against the Lombards, crushing them as it did the Ostrogoths. Then in the 600s the Slavs migrate into Italy as well as into the Balkans.

Well they did take boats across the Adriatic almost as soon as they reached the eastern coast to raid and settle with settlements forming on the Gargano peninsula and keeping a Slavic character all the way into the 12th century. What stopped the Slavs were organised states of Langobards and Allemans, not the geography.

Also Britain is far more likely to go Slavic than France. Slavic groups had penetrated all the way to Jutland and some were even on the shores of the North sea just north from the Saxons. Have someone in Panonnia that opposes their expansion rather than using Slavs for their own needs and it is likely that the northwestern push of the Slavs would be many times stronger probably drowning OTL Danmark and maybe southern Sweden and from there Slavic raiders can follow the path taken by Angles just a century and a half earlier creating an odd combination of Celtic, Germanic and Slavic peoples living in Britain.
