Six-Day War leads to Nassar's over throw, and long term peace?

after a Second war with Israel, in Which all of Sinai was over run and the Suez Canal was closed Gamal Abdel Nasser said he'd step down, mass protests against this stopped him, if that was planed or not is unknown but Nasser was sure in the late days of the war the Army or the Mob would come for him, and he had plans to shoot himself, Israelis floated the ideas of bombing Cairo to force him out and liked the idea of Nasser being over thrown and making long term peace with a new government.

so say that Nasser was over thrown, or thought he was going to be, and killed himself, would a post-Nasser government make peace for the Sinai back? if so what would a post-67 Egypt peace look like?

Probably not. Nasser’s fears were based on the government’s mishandling of the war against Israel, not on the fact that they were fighting Israel. When Sadat took over, although he was inclined to making a deal with the Israelis he didn’t feel that the had the stature and national support to do so without fighting a war with Israel first. The same would be true of any earlier leadership change and a leadership change resulting from a coup would probably have given Egypt a regime that wanted to fight the war with Israel the right way.
