Sir Nigel Gresley doesn't die in office in 1941.

The LNER would probably be spared some (if not all) of Edward Thompson's mistakes, which might put Doncaster in a stronger position come Nationalisation. The LNER might also stick with wooden coaches rather than changing to steel (Thompson's only real success, IIRC), which would be interesting in a Harrow-type disaster. Oh, and we'd probably still have some form of P2, Britain's best-looking steam engine.:D
