Sigsmund III Vasa dies, Sons in Poland and Russia

What if Sigsmund dies just before he can screw up placing at least one of his sons in Russia?

Are we talking about his son, Wladyslaw, that was elected as tsar of Russia by the Seven Boyars in 1610? Because if that is the case then a lot can happen not only in Poland but in Sweden as well. It is all dependent on when he dies ITTL.

Yes, that one. I would think he would immediately at least go with Poland and John Casmir may go with Russia.

There is a lot of potential with this POD. Here are what I can see being possible outcomes:

If Sigismund dies shortly before his son's election to the Russian throne, I believe that it could very well go the other way. From what I recall, the throne to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was subject to having an individual being elected as king. The one thing that prevented Wladyslaw from getting on the throne in Russia was his father's objection to the move. Yes, Wladyslaw was considered tsar until roughly 1613 but he did not formally accept the position. Who would not want to be the beginning of a new dynasty in a large and upcoming kingdom? Now if Wladyslaw did go through with the move to Russia then his rule may not last long if the popular movement that occurred in OTL were to still occur ITTL.

The one detail that would most likely not change would be Wladyslaw's claim to the throne of Sweden through his father.

Another possibility is an increase in hostilities on multiple fronts for the PLC. Sweden was at war with the PLC from 1600 until 1629 and the PLC shared a border with the Ottomans (if I recall correctly). The Russians were also not on good terms with the Poles as evidenced by the Poles being pushed out of Moscow in 1612 (OTL). The PLC was not necessarily weak but they lacked a navy which would be a setback. This very well could be similar to the attacks that occurred in OTL during the reign of John II Casimir.

Of course, there is also the possibility that neither Wladyslaw nor John Casimir get the throne in 1610. Wladyslaw gained popularity over the course of his father's reign and his brother was not as lucky OTL. The question then would be: would the queen consort and the two children remain in Poland, seek a place in Austria with family members, or seek exile elsewhere?
