The siege of Nicaea in Asia Minor during the First Crusade fails for the following reasons: (1) The city holds out longer than anticipated. (2) There is considerable disagreement between Alexius Comnenus and the Crusader Army. (3) The main body of Crusaders are anxious to get to Palestine and decide to abandon the siege. Without western aid, the Greeks cannot recapture Nicaea. (4). The city is relieved by a large Turkish army that proceeds to defeat both the Greeks and the western Crusaders. What happens next?
