Siege of Constantinople, 717-718.

Constantinople falls in 718. What happens next? How far do Muslim Arab armies penetrate into eastern and western Europe and could this result in their winning the battle of Tours in 732?

Had Constantinople fallen in 718 (a ridiculously unlikely event by the way) then there is nothing really to stop the Arabs advancing to conquer all Europe. Of course, they cannot carry on indefinitely, but to see all of the old Roman Empire under Muslim domination is not too unreasonable. Eventually, cracks in the Caliphate would have slowed their advance, personally I cannot see the Arabs advancing too far into Britain or Germany, if these areas were too cold and wet for the Italian Romans, I can certainly not see the Arabs conquering them.

The Bulgars, Avars, and multitudes of Slavic tribes would not be pushovers by any standard... that far into Europe and the Arabs would be badly overstretched. Also, only a few decades later there was an Umayyad civil war, so they are not going to be expanding during that. Furthermore, the Arabs expanding as far as you suggest is ASB in my opinion.
