Sides in a Communist WW2?

So Germany falls to a communist revolution in the '20s and joins an alliance with a USSR effectively turning Central-to-Eastern Europe communist.

Assuming an anti-communist alliance develops and confrontation leads to a WW2 (ie a global war) analogue against the Communist Bloc what would the sides be?

Would Western Europe be more susceptible to fascism?
Would the US join against the Communists?
Would the Japanese be a western ally?
Who would be neutral? or semi-neutral (ie neutrality between 2 members on opposite sides in order to wage war against others on that side)?

A lot depends on what happens.

The most likely period when Germany could go Communist is very early in 1919. At that time, Allied troops are occupying the Rhineland, and a free Poland is being organized between Germany and Russia. The Treaty of Versailles is still being hammered out between the Allies.

Needless to say, a Communist Germany at this time can't stop the Allies from marching in and dictating everything. France could very well split up Germany into multiple countries, only one of which was Communist. The map of Europe is being redrawn right now, and it might look very different from OTL.

If the Communist seize power later, it's still going to provoke a different reaction than when Hitler seized power in the Great Depression and overturned the various Versailles restrictions.

If you want a realistic scenario, I think we need to determine exactly how Germany became Communist and how France and the other countries responded. Only once we figure out the diplomatic map fo Europe before the war can we determine what happens after the war begins.

That's doable, just have it where Stalin doesn't do his idioitc, "Social Fascism," and instead have his agents focus on removing radical right parties. When the Great Depression occurs, the frustration with moderate politics to solve the crisis could lead to a Communist revolt, unless you get someone who does something like the New Deal.
