Vladislav was the son of Serbian King Dragutin and Katharine dr of Stephan V of Hungary. As such he was one of the claimants to the Hungarian throne in 1301 but lost out due to having to defend his claims to Serbia with his uncles and cousins.
So what if his claim on Serbia was undisputed? Perhaps his uncle Urosh Milutin is never born and Vladislav is recognised as Dragutin's heir.
