Second World War with much improved leaders

...YES YES YES

How can we make this happen?

I think there may be a problem - Carton de Wiart seems to have been a Catholic. Maybe we could have him convert. Plus, there's getting him out of the army - I suspect one would have to blow all but a limb and his head off his torso before he stopped finding it fun. Well, he'd still find it fun, but he might find it tricky to get uniforms made.

I think if a pseudo-Buddhist-mystical lunatic can be Russian autocrat, a Catholic can be British PM.

He will of course be PM. I'll none of this damn usurpery business!

Oh, of course! But that makes me think we should replace Edward VIII and KGV with someone crazier. Whom do we have?

How about another GVI, Rear-Admiral, Master of English Freemasons, the one who may have slept with Noel Coward and the Maharani of Cooch-Behar, to name but two?

He and de Wiart will get on swimmingly, I'm sure! :D

How are some of these leaders improvements?

I'd go with something like:

Germany: Army Junta led by Blomberg, Fritzch.
Poland: Pilsudski lives longer.
Italy: Balbo (thank you Geekhis Khan)
China: Li Zongren (someone who is going to do what they can to fight Japan instead of playing for time or harassing the Communists)
France: Leon Blum (Should be willing to fight)
Soviet Union: Stalin has a breakdown on day one, Molotov takes over.
United Kingdom: Clement Atlee (Someone who is not going to intervene all over the war effort, but is determined to fight)
Japan: Prince Konoe Fumimaro (someone who avoids throwing Japan into a hopeless war)
United States: James Brynes (Similar to FDR, but a younger face)
Spain: Emillio Mola Survives; wins SCW faster than OTl.

You're no fun! I believe Zyz meant "improved" in some sort of mixed-up Canadian sense. Also, while I picked him because I think he was cool, Zhāng Xuéliáng, it seems to me, would by no means have been a bad leader. And it's not like L-V can do worse than Hitler...

Ooh, yes, I approve of this. Bear in mind that he was suggested as King of Poland IOTL, and only WWII stopped this!

I really must re-read Grey Wolf's Eleventh Hour sometime, there's a marvellous plotline after Britain crumbles into Civil War (following the Satanic-induced German nuking of London) that ends up in Georgie being crowned George VI following the deaths of Joyce's puppet Queen Margaret and her heir on Salisbury Plain.
