Second Russian Civil War in the 90s?

Ok I been studying up on Russia for various TLs I'm working on at the moment. I came across the 1993 Russian constitutional crisis. It seems that Russia was on the verge of civil war but the army supported Yeltsin and things calmed down. However what would happen if the army split with some supporting Yeltsin and others supporting Rutskoy.

What would a civil war in a nuclear armed state look like? Would they really use nuclear weapons or would the rest of the world led by the US be able to force the Russians hand over their nukes to keep them from being used? What kind of fall out would this civil war lead to?

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? I don't know much on the subject, and I'd be curious to see how this would work out.

No one would be able to force the USSR to hand over their nuclear weapons--and I doubt that anyone would be foolish enough to try.
That said, both sides want to control the country, not vaporize it. However, the side that seems to be losing might use the threat of their nuclear weapons toforce a cease fire, ultimately leading to a divided country.

I would suggest two plausible times when a Second Russian Civil War could happen

1 August 1991during the coup attempt against Gorbachev. he most likely POD for this is 20/21 August when troops were moved into Moscow and an assault on the White House planned

2
2 The 1993 crisis during which Yeltsin used force
