Second Mexican-American War?

I think a timeline called the American World War involved a 2nd Mexican-American war in the 1920s. I think that timeline is dead though.

It's not dead, I am writing the next update as we speak.

Mine had the 2nd Mexican-American War just before the US enters WWI and the 3rd Mexican-American War in the 1930s

If it's in the 20s, I could see Mexico eventually falls to either communism or fascism.
Was there a communist movement in Mexico in the 20s? Here's how it could go. We get the war to happen in 1916, so the US doesn't interfere in WW1. Russian revolution still happens, of course. Would Germany or the allies win without US intervention? I think Germany would, but perhaps someone could educate me on why the Allies might win. The reason I think the Germans would win is because they could get a ton of troops that were on the Eastern Front to the Western Front. Then, the Mexicans have a communist revolution because of the obvious economic instability, which is of course supported by the Soviets. Then it goes on from there.

The US might want to be careful here. The Mexicans had the Mondragon rifle while the US Army had the M1903 Springfield.

They needed Foreigners to make enough of them to equip their troops and having a better gun means little if your troops cant shoot for shit.

The last thing any Mexican government wants is beating of a punishment raid as it might piss off the USA enough to turn it into a real war.

EDIT: Sorry for super Necro reading through old threads forgot how old this one was.

The most I can see is the American military intervening if Villa and Zapata began to make significant inroads into Carranza territory. Even then the US military during this time was puny and not very well armed. TR also had the blight of the Philippine War on his record and he would be keen not to repeat such an unpopular war. Lastly, during the end of the campaign TR shifted left in an attempt to take votes from the major third party during this time, the Socialists. I doubt TR would risk his coalition to start an "imperialist war." In the end I don't think Mexico would be big on TRs list and instead would continue supporting and arming Carranza
