Second Kyrat Civil War

I just finished playing Far Cry 4 for another run and I was mildly curious; what does everyone think would have happened in either the Amita ending or the Sabbal ending of Ajay, sickened by what he saw going on, leading an insurrection against the Golden Path by rallying the remainants of the Royal Army and Royal Guard; after all he was Min's chosen successor and I feel the Royal Guard or Royal Army might follow him...

Thoughts anyone?

I agree Ajay was to my mind clearly sickened by actions of either Amita or Sabal. The key question is does he decide to become a focal point for the new resistance or does he leave Kyrat having laid his mother's ashes to rest?

Although it wouldn't be impossible for Ajay to lead the survivors of the Royal Army, how palatable would it be for them to follow him? Particularly after Ajay spearheaded the attack that removed King Min from the throne.

Hard to say.. when I played through I always felt Ajay felt more and more attached to Kyrat, so its possible by the end of the war he saw Sabbal or Amita basically become a new Min... he may feel, at the very least, he doesn't want his country to suffer anymore. Let's assume he decides to remain and lead a renewed resistance, do you think he would have the popular support to do it?

Thats hard to say, some may feel loyalty simply to Min's chosen successor, others might want to side with Ajay for no other reason then not allow the Golden Path... the real wild card i feel would be the Royal Guard, they were directly loyal to Min; assuming Ajay allows Min to leave on that helicopter do you think Min would support Ajay from behind the scene, possibly with the Royal Guard, or say "Good luck my boy, this shithole is your problem now!"

After storming the palace Ajay has a tremendous amount of support throughout the country. He has been lionised by Rabi Ray Rana, escorted medical supplies to those in need and rescued kidnapped civilians. Furthermore he is also the son of the Mohan Ghale and has his father's legacy to utilise.

All in all he would be very popular throughout the country and would be an immediate threat to Amita or Sabal. In fact if he was not assassinated or forced to leave immediately after deposing Pagan Min I would be surprised.

That could always be used as his way out, after storming the Palace Ajay visits a monastery. He is then drawn from the Monastery after the killings commence either Amita or Sabal. But I agree the post war situation in Kyrat to my mind was always going to be far more interesting.

On another note I'm also using Kyrat as a basis for a TL that I have started to write.

As I recall his mother was the former central religious figure, that also adds legitimacy to whatever claim over Kyrat he wanted to exert.

That could be the beginning of an interesting timeline; an attempted assassination of Ajay as he's living quietly in his father's former house. That could be enough to galvanie him, in addition to seeing Kyrat's population being now oppressed either by the hyper religious Golden Path that his father wanted to create under Sabal, or the de-facto new Min Narco State under Amita.

After that he could seek out the remnants of the Royal Army, seek out financial support or something from Min, maybe even Noore's supporters. After that watching a Second Civil War unfold.

OH... thats a timeline I wouldn't mind seeing.

That's right his mother was the Tarun Matara (?) so as you suggest he also has a religious pedigree to consider. Agreed Ajay is living in his father's homestead and fights off an assassination attempt, thus precipitating a new Civil War. I think a Narco state works better as he must now thread the eye of the needle between Kyrat's religious heritage and the need to create a sustainable economy.

As you suggest that would be a compelling TL to write or read.

As for my TL... it is set in a fictional country Khorasan, roughly located where Jammu - Kashmir is today. Three way Civil War between the remnants of the former Communist government, Islamic insurgents and a small ethnic minority (Tibetans) in the North East. My protagonist ends up leading the ethnic Tibetans.

I honestly think there could be a balance... it was just a fact that Amita and Sabal were going too extremes to both ends...

In this imagined timeline I would think that it was Amita that came out of the power struggle for the Golden Path, shes seems to be much more blood thirsty and willing to use violence to remain in power.

She's likely going to be incredibly unpopular considering one of her first moves was to unapologeticly begin conscripting children into the Golden Path's army to restore its decimated ranks; in of itself that may make some units of the Royal Army rush to Ajay's side to avoid having their kids all under the prey of the Golden Path. ... I'm really tempted to begin working on such a timeline...

Is that the timeline linked in your sig?

Sounds like an interesting TL right there, my advice is go for it. Writing a TL is difficult, but frankly it can be very rewarding. Plus you have the advantage of playing another game if you need another 'bout' of inspiration.

The TL linked in my signature block is to my revamped Cambodian TL, but I'd still recommend it as a good read!

No the TL I was suggesting was called 'Rooftop of the World,' which I'll add another chapter or two in the coming weeks.

I think I'll do just that! :)

Thus far I think I've gotten it that it'll be the Amita Golden Path victory with Min having been left alive.

My thought is that following the attack on his homestead Ajay flees to the North where he links up with elements of the Royal Army still fighting out of Yuma Lau's Fortress. When I had finished the game I had left Yuma and Mins fortresses alone so we'll go with that so Ajay can at least start with a viable resistance and justification for Amita to begin drafting children soldiers.

I always thought that Far Cry 4 (and 2 and 3) would make for a great combined setting, also toss in the Mercenaries series, Just Cause, and some other ones involving unstable rogue states and/or soldiers of fortune.
