(So I finally get around to starting my idea for a Saxon victory at Hastings now that midterms are over)

Prelude
On October 14th in the year of our Lord 1066 all of Anglo-Saxon England could finally breathe a sigh of relief, William the Bastard duke of Normandy lay dead on the field of Hastings with the rest of his men. His defeat marked the end of all Norman ambition towards England leaving the true heart of Norman ambition in Europe in the hands of the house De Hauteville in Sicily. The Duchy of Normandy is thoroughly expended with most of its working age sons dead.
King Harold Godwinson had faced foreign invasion down twice now and both times firmly crushed it. After the Battle of Hastings Harold is granted the title “The Mighty” by a star struck nobility as he begins what would become one of the most influential periods in English history.
Meanwhile the Pope in Rome has egg in his face, his backer for the throne of England is dead and the new king poised to make his realm even more powerful...
