Sarah Palin Runs for President in 2012

There was a lot of speculation that Sarah Palin run in 2012 because of how awesome of a show she put on in 2008. Let's say she does not resign as Governor of Alaska and gets re-elected in 2010. She throws her hat in the ring for 2012, contending with former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Texas Governor Rick Perry, and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman. Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann sits out 2012 because Palin eclipses her as the female Tea Party candidate, but does not rule out a run in 2016. Can Palin win the nomination? If she does, she can overcome the "War on Women" scenario hanging around the GOP's neck but will need to select a moderate for a running mate in order to not repulse moderates. Would Romney run again in 2016 after losing to her?

She won't win the nomination. She'd probably be the strongest Anti Romney candidate (at least after Perry gaffes), but the establishment would stop her from getting it, as in 2008 she hurt McCain a lot more than she helped him.

On '12 primaries Palin hssn't any changes. Probably not even to primaries.

On '16 election might be better for her and even then she probably drop during primaries.

She quits halfway through the primaries, after she's grifted a fair bit of money from her supporters.

You don't think she's a serious politician do you?

After the 2008 election, a Republican friend and I were making predictions about 2012. I made a forecast for a Obama's reelection based on peace, prosperity and Sarah Palin. I do realize I was being overly optimistic. She would have made a gaffe and lost the nomination. Too bad, of she had been the Republican nomination, there would have been a Democratic house 2012 -2015.

It would be interesting to have seen a two-term Governor Palin running...it would blunt the "quitter" persona that came up around her...I wonder how she'd weather the scandals both political and personal while managing to get re-elected though...

OTL Palin would probably drop out before the Primaries, she was really unelectable and if she tried to be controversial like Trump then it'd probably be used as a whole 'See,Palin really is stupid!' type of thing.

A potential two-term Governor of Alaska Palin, idk,I feel she would still be a weak candidate due to Troopergate and overall poor governorship.

Plain is competent in the range of issues she focuses on.

And if the price of oil is relatively high in late 2011, the Alaskan economy is probably doing well.
