Samuel Morse

Tell me if this is in the wrong subsection.

What if Samuel Morse hadn't invented the telegraph(or whatever it was). How would communication have developed technologically without this invention.

Telegraphy would have continued to be a bit more unwieldy, and boy scouts the world over would be placing greater emphasis on lewarning semaphoring.

Morse's great contribution was the code. The electric telegraph had already been in existence for years, but without the relatively simple and versatile code to use it, itc was a clunky and limited mechanism. wireless might also take longer.
