Samothrace Question

How heavily cybernized is the population of Samothrace?

I assume anyone who's served in the military has had at least some minor augmentations. But what about the civilian population? Also... Is Samothracian cybernisation the idealistic American version (you get to keep your personality and your emotions, plus you can do a whole bunch of neat stuff) or the dystopic British version (you get to do neat stuff but you become a soulless drone).

It's not clear in the books.

However, LeFarge recalls working as a shepherd, protecting the sheep from Samothracian predators with a rifle, which means lower-level jobs are still filled with people, not machines.

(If it were possible, such a job could be done by a UCAV. Fly around blasting wolves/wolf-analogues with rockets.)

I don't recall any mention of brain uploads or that kind of radical thing. Perhaps Samothracian cybernetics had more to do with countering the drakensis's physical advantage--faster reflexes, more strength, that sort of thing.
