Safavid-Habsburg Alliance in the 17th century?

Is there any possibility of a Persian-European alliance (mainly Safavid and Habsburg) during the mid-to-late 17th century? I'm thinking mostly in regards to an alliance against the Ottomans, with Persia joining the Great Turkish War on the Habsburg side?

If such an alliance was founded, would it be possible for Persia to take a more active role in European affairs generally? Say an intermixing of the Safavid and Habsburg royal houses?

Not at the time. The distances are too great and the Ottomans remain in the way. Some cooperation in the Indian Ocean would be interesting.

Religious issues likely prevent this.
Might it not be possible for Persia to capture the Ottoman's Levantine territories, as well as undoing the conquests of Mesopotamia and northern Arabia? This would allow Persia a window into European affairs due to them having a presence in the Mediterranean. I'm thinking in such a case the Persians will work with the European powers to keep North Africa in check, as well as co-operation in the Gulf and Indian Ocean. If such an alliance with the Habsburgs were to succeed, could Persia maintain its territories in the Caucasus against Russia? Perhaps we'd have another Crimean War on our hands with Persian and Austrian troops fighting against Russian expansion in the Caucasus.

Possibility? Yes. The Safavids tried during Tahmasp I rule and Abbas I the Great rule. But during the Great Turkish War? The Persian Armies haven't fought any decent or any war at all between 1640 and 1684. That is about 44 year. The Ottomans are veterans. The Ottomans can dispatch some forces to Persia and give them a beating while the Habsburg-Ottoman Border would likely be the Sava-Danube River maybe considering the French did intervene in 1688 as well. The Afghan Rebels in 1722 crushed the Safavid Army, consider what the Ottomans will do to an inexperienced Persian Army. Best chances are the war might end earlier than 1699... Maybe in 1691 or so after the defeat in Slankamen (if such battle ever were to occur.)

Active role? Yes. Intermixing with the royal houses? Nooooo no no no... Not possible. Smaller nations like Trebizond and Byzantines did so because it was a way of survival. The Habsburg Empire do not have any intention to marry in a 'Saracen/Persian' Dynasty. Neither do I think the Safavids will go for it.

I don't see how this could happen without a complete collapse of Ottoman power. Such a conquest would likely strip the Ottomans of Egypt and the Hijaz as well. Eastern Anatolia would be open to invasion. Those changes (as unlikely as they are) are more impactful than any alliance.

I'm not sure it will go any better than the last one:
