Rust in Peace: The End of America

Our Hero: Prescott Bush-Chapter 1 of US History for Students

Many years ago a communist ruled this beautiful nation of America. Franklin Delino Roosevelt, Horrid Communist tried to turn our nation into a reigme much like the one to the south. Prescott Bush made a stand. Bush worked with men from large companies who were opressed by their Communist leader. He successfully found military men willing to become heroes and took the White House away from this unrightful leader. America had a hero. Bush was made leader of America, he lived in troubled times but he has kept our nation alive to this day. Bush died January 14th 1963, he was given a memorial in Bush City, the capitol of our nation named after him.

Prescott Bush? the first treasurer of Planned Parenthood? the support of the United Negro College Fund? the guy that helped pass the Peace Corps? You picked the wrong guy to lead a right-wing coup

He was a moderate after WW2, but he was part of the Business Plot that would have made a Fascist America during the depression.

thats an internet lie, same as he did business with Nazis, in the 30s Mr. Bush was working with the United States Rubber Company, and was head of the United States Golf Association and working with and paling around with W. Averell Harriman

I had my doubts but I went with what I heard, planned a way to get around this if I have to... give me a moment..

The True Dictator: Gerald MacGuire

“Over in the east those “True Americans” worship a man named Prescott Bush, say he’s the one who took down FDR. He was a figurehead, only a popular man they decided to make the nations hero. MacGuire pulled all the strings. Bush wasn’t even there for the seige of D.C. or ‘Bush City’ as they call it now. I’m pretty sure that the poor man was afraid for his life half the time, one screw up and he’d be shot dead by the real dictator. It’s a shame the American east is a land of extremes.”

Al Smith was said to be the backbone of the Business Plot, while Irénée du Pont was the money, the Du Pont family is all kinds of fun

Everything I read mentioned MacGuire and Bush over and over, but then again studying this subject is like studying the JFK assassination, alot of the information is either flawed or undetailed.

I don't think you should write a Timeline if you can't find reliable information on the subject.

I didn't want to do it but you uys are evil and had to vote for the anti-Ameriwank, and now you get stuck with a timeline where doing research is like playing Mindsweeper blindfolded.

I didn't vote for it...its a cliched POD with no plausible outcome.

If you made a poll and everybody voted you should jump off the roof, would you do it?:p

The Business Plot was a work of fiction whose main proponent was a traitor, Congressman Dickstein, who was actually on Stalin's payroll.

The lie starts with the lunatic idea of a pro-FDR general like Smedley Butler being asked to lead a RIGHT-WING coup. Anyone familiar with Butler and especially his openly spoken contempt for the way the US Army was used to support corporate interests in Latin America would rank Butler as perhaps the last general to be approached with such a suggestion.

Then it proposes a march on Washington DC of thousands of veterans to divert from the coup speaking as if completely unaware of the Bonus Army's genuine visit, and tragic consequences, to DC only a few years earlier.

To believe in this plot requires the sort of judgement that could imagine someone hand-picking Rush Limbaugh to lead a left wing coup against a Republican administration.

Zacoftheaxes, and now you'll have an unknown bond salesman as secret dictator of the US?

Oh brother. Someone's been relying on Conservapedia too much.

The American Liberty League plot's details were confirmed by congressional investigation. To believe your assertion, you have to imagine an entire committee and their aides and investigators were under hypnosis or something equally ASB to make them overlook the truth.

Dickstein was actually bribed by Soviets in the late 1930s, 5-6 years after the plot. You also ignore that the initial person to speak of the plot was Butler, not Dickstein.

But to Zac, I do join the others in saying take care to not get P Bush mixed up in this. It seems Wikipedia is its usual sloppy self...

You're all wrong. It was the Cubans working with the CIA and the Men in Black. All secretly working through the State of Texas for the Gnomes of Zürich in a power play (supported by the Bermuda Triangle) to take the International Communist Conspiracy away from the Bavarian Illuminati.

Trust me, I gamed this one out. It's the only plausible explanation.
