Russians On The Black Sea

What is the earliest the Russians can have a port on the Black Sea?

Also, the earliest the Russians can have the Crimea?

The combination of Golytsyn and Samoilovich/Mazepa in 1687/89 was very unfortunate. With the cossacks more cooperative and the Russian commander more decisive, Russia had enough men to take Crimea even then. They also had enough guns.

What they needed was more guts and a bit more lognistic cabability. All Peter did different was build up the Don flotilla, but it's not nearly as fancy as it sounds, most were just large river boats. Engineers to span Perekop and a better logistics train to supply the crossing with food could do it too.

You need to solve those problems. It's not easy, but by the end of the 17th c. Russia has enough power for sure otherwise.
