Russian Republic survives Civil war

The Nazis might be called something else, but there will still be a big revanchist party aching to settle scores from WWI. The German military will back that party, and then WWII begins.

A Second World War was by no means guaranted, there were plenty of PODs were it could have been avoided.

A question:
Could a non-communist Russia butterfly away the Economic Crisis of the late 20s?
If I remeber correctly it started out as a minor overproduction crisis in the States. So if Russia is capitalist and imports a lot of industrial products from America (they even tryed to import half their ammo during the First World War) that could prevent the crisis.

There is of course also the question how fast Russia would industrialize.

Even assuming the Second World War goes ahead (unlikely due to the hordes of butterflies having no Soviet Union in the 20's and 30's causes) I'd say Russia would do better. A half-decent officer corps would of been far more helpful then additional heavy industry.

I also don't buy the "Russia would of never industrialised without Stalin" argument. While the pace might of been slower and there would be less of a (ultimately unhealthy) fixation on heavy industry, Russia was already well on the way to industrialisation and modernization before the First World War broke out.

But all this has a lot to do with where the Republic goes politically. The Socialist Revolutionaries will most likely dominate. Does anyone know any more about the policies they envisioned and their democratic-ness?

Slightly more democratic than Mensheviks. Envisioned building coalition with Mensheviks and Kadetts. More agricultural socialism (so more focus on peasants than workers).
