Russian 1993 Constitutional Crisis Explodes

Is it possible for the 1993 Russian constitutional crisis to create an actual civil war in the newly democratic country? How would such a civil war be prosecuted, who would be the winner, and what would be the history of Russia from then up to the present day?

I am not sure about a civil war, but a explosion of violence and confusion leading to chaos beyond the political controll could have happened. My guess is though the army would have stepped in at some point. If Jeltsin hadn't been able to "crush the crisis" I doubt he would have remained in power.
