[Russia AH] - No Romanovs post-Peter I?

See above. Suppose Peter's grandchildren through Alexei die before him, and that his daughters and nieces also manage to sire no heirs to adulthood. Given the many child or infancy deaths he, his brother Ivan and their father Alexis suffered through, and given the then-Muscovite tradition of princesses meaning he had no paternal cousins, that is somewhat possible in my opinion. If this does happen though, who succeeds to the throne of Russia?

I would imagine they'd call for the Estates to elect another noble house, but who it could be at the time, I don't know. Especially post-Peter: new nobles and old nobles will definitely not align.

Weren't there still some Rurikid princes floating around? Prince Romadanovsky(?), was one. The Golovins, Galitzines and Dolgorukovs might also try something. @Valena?

Romodanovski was the most senior Rurikid, but I imagine the Dolgorukovs and/or Saltykovs making clearer bid for throne. The Saltykovs have additional bonus of producing the Tsarina recently (wife of Ivan V), and unlike Lopukhins, Skavronski etc they are actual noble clan.
Dolgorukovs can try through sheer audacity (see their (failed) Peter II gambit).
