So lets say Charles I wins the English Civil war early on, successfully taking London in 1642 (I'll admit I don't know much about the actual War itself so lets say Charles listens to Prince Rupert of the Rhine, who seemed to have good advise). What happens next? With a victory for the Royalists will we see a more Absolute style of Monarchy? Would we see show trials for the Parliamentarians? Would England start to become more and more like other absolute monarchies like France and to a lesser extent Spain and Portugal (in the sense that those respective monarchies didn't have to call their Parliaments to raise money because they were wealthy from colonial ventures)? Or would this be a temporary victory, with Opposition raising again in a few years?
